how to get involved now:
Creating the Village of Westchester Energy Plan
The Village of Westchester is developing a community-wide Energy Plan. The goal is to create a strategic plan that improves energy efficiency, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and increases sustainability. This plan is being funded by a grant through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program, administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
This strategic roadmap will engage stakeholders such as local businesses, government agencies, and residents to guide efforts in advancing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and improving sustainability in the community. The plan is being developed through a collaborative, multi-stakeholder Energy Planning Team facilitated and supported by the City’s Energy Planning consultant, paleBLUEdot.
Westchester Energy Baseline Documents
A significant amount of research is currently been done as a foundation to the Village’s work in preparing the Energy Plan. The research and preliminary recommendations that will be included in these documents are intended as a starting point for the collaborative planning team which will be creating the plan. Please return to this page this fall to view the baseline documents!
The Village Wants Your Input!
Please help the Village identify perceptions, needs, opportunities, priorities, and issues for the community. Take the Village of Westchester’s Energy Plan Survey and help shape the Energy Plan. Please share the survey with your neighbors, friends, and family!
