The Draft Westchester Energy Action Plan
The Village of Westchester has spent the past year developing its first Energy Plan. Created with guidance from a collaborative, multi-stakeholder Planning Team, the plan sets goals and identifies actions across both municipal operations and the broader community. It provides a roadmap for advancing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions through 2040.

Creating the Village of Westchester Energy Plan
The Village of Westchester is finalizing its first community-wide Energy Plan. The goal is to create a strategic plan that improves energy efficiency, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and increases sustainability. This plan is being funded by a grant through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program, administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
This strategic roadmap engaged stakeholders such as local businesses, government agencies, and residents to guide efforts in advancing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and improving sustainability in the community. The plan was developed through a collaborative, multi-stakeholder Energy Planning Team facilitated and supported by the City’s Energy Planning consultant, paleBLUEdot.
Westchester Energy Baseline Documents
A significant amount of research is currently been done as a foundation to the Village’s work in preparing the Energy Plan. The research and preliminary recommendations that will be included in these documents are intended as a starting point for the collaborative planning team which will be creating the plan. Attend the Community Meeting:
The Village will hold a community meeting. Please attend for a presentation on how the Draft Energy Plan was developed, hear about what is in the plan, and provide your input and ideas on how the plan should be finalized.

Community Survey
