how to get involved now:
Creating the City of Beloit Climate Action Plan
The City of Beloit has established a goal of achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040! The city is now developing a Climate Action Plan to guide action towards that goal, address climate impacts, and build community resilience. This strategic roadmap will engage stakeholders such as local businesses, government agencies, and residents to guide efforts in adapting to climate change and improving energy efficiency in the community. The plan is being developed through a collaborative, multi-stakeholder CAP Planning Team facilitated and supported by the City’s Climate Action Plan consultant, paleBLUEdot.
Beloit Climate Action Baseline Documents
A significant amount of research is currently been done as a foundation to the City’s work in preparing the Climate Action Plan. The research and preliminary recommendations that included in these documents are intended as a starting point for the collaborative planning team which will be creating the plan. Participate in the Beloit Climate Futures Storytelling Project
The Beloit "Diary 2040" Climate Storytelling Project invites community members to share their hopes and visions for Beloit’s climate future —and to inspire others across our region.
While facts and statistics about climate change are important, they are not enough. We also need to hear the voices and visions of those imagining a brighter, more resilient future. By participating in the Climate Futures Storytelling Project, you can share your hopes, ideas, and dreams for a more sustainable Beloit.
Your story is a powerful part of our community’s path toward climate resilience and collective hope.
