paleBLUEdot was selected for the City of Burnsville 2019 Sustainability Guide Plan. The City of Burnsville is committed to long-term environmental sustainability, as evidenced by the City’s Step 5 designation achievement in the MPCA’s GreenStep Cities program. In 2008, the City completed the Burnsville Sustainability Guide Plan (SGP) which articulated practical ideas, activities and strategies in 14 Best Practice Areas for the city organization and the community to help make Burnsville more sustainable. This planning effort is to build on the success of the 2008 SGP and develop an updated Sustainability Plan mapping out city-wide sustainability strategies to guide the City over the next 10 years.
The paleBLUEdot effort will include:
Detailed review of City characteristics, and relevant past and present planning documents.
City Sustainability Baseline Documentation including: City-Wide Ambient Noise, City-Wide Ambient Light, Walk Score Heat Mapping, Public Transit Benefit Mapping, Housing and Transit Affordability, City-Wide Ground Cover characteristics, Tree Canopy benefit calculations, City-Wide Heat Island characteristics, City-Wide Solar Potentia.
