Creating the Fitchburg Sustainability Plan
The City of Fitchburg has now begun creating a Sustainability Action Plan (SAP). The SAP will establish goals and provide a menu of detailed actions to support increasing sustainability community-wide. The sustainability plan seeks to be a tool supporting the City, businesses, and residents in identifying and implementing actions to increase our resilience and meet sustainability goals. The plan will be created by a multi-stakeholder SAP Team facilitated and supported by the City’s Sustainability Plan consultant, paleBLUEdot.

Starting in the fall of 2023, this page will provide process planning documents and content available for public review during the Fitchburg Sustainability Action Plan planning process.
Community Sustainability Survey
The city issued an online community survey to collect input from a broad range of community members. The intent of the survey was to help identify sustainability needs, opportunities, priorities, and issues for the City of Fitchburg. The survey was made available for community members from July 2023 through February 14th, 2024. You can review the survey summary report below or download the report here.

A significant amount of research has been done as a foundation to the City’s work in preparing the Susatainability Action Plan.
