The Village of Glencoe, Illinois, has selected paleBLUEdot to develop its first Sustainability Action Plan, a major step toward advancing the community’s long-term environmental vision. Approved unanimously by the Village Board in June 2025, the plan will provide a unified roadmap for sustainability initiatives that have until now been pursued individually.
Glencoe has a strong track record of sustainability, including forming a Sustainability Task Force in 2016 and adopting the regional Greenest Region Compact. The Village’s 2023 Sustainability Vision Plan highlighted priorities such as reducing carbon emissions, improving stormwater management, protecting trees and ecosystems, and cutting waste. The new action plan will build on these efforts, aligning with the Village’s comprehensive plan All In Glencoe and regional sustainability goals.
Local leaders are enthusiastic about the new chapter. “We’re looking forward to having this established,” said Laurie Tuchman, co-chair of Glencoe’s Sustainability Task Force.

Public engagement will play a central role, ensuring that residents, businesses, and community partners help shape Glencoe’s sustainable future.
