The City of Oshkosh has selected paleBLUEdot to develop its first Comprehensive Energy Action Plan, a major step toward reducing carbon emissions, lowering energy costs, and advancing long-term sustainability. Supported by an Energy Innovation Grant from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, the plan will guide the City in prioritizing energy investments across its diverse portfolio of more than 120 municipal buildings.
The Comprehensive Energy Action Plan will provide Oshkosh with the data, strategies, and tools to decarbonize municipal operations and build resilience. paleBLUEdot’s scope of work includes:
Collecting building characteristics and creating a baseline performance profile.
Conducting solar potential assessments across all municipal buildings, including detailed financial analysis for five priority sites.
Establishing an ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager account with utility data for city facilities.
Developing a phased roadmap with actionable strategies for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and building upgrades.
The plan will integrate with Oshkosh’s capital planning process, ensuring that energy and carbon reduction measures are embedded into future decision-making. Community Development, General Services, and Public Works staff will help guide the project, with opportunities for input from boards, committees, and community stakeholders.
By launching this effort, Oshkosh demonstrates its leadership in building a cleaner, more resilient future—one that reduces energy costs for residents, protects public assets, and accelerates the city’s path toward carbon neutrality. paleBLUEdot is honored to partner with Oshkosh in this important initiative.
