The Village of Glen Ellyn, Illinois has taken a major step toward a greener, more resilient future by selecting paleBLUEdot to lead the first phase of its Environmental Sustainability Planning effort. This initiative will provide the Village with a strong foundation for long-term sustainability, helping chart a path toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions, advancing renewable energy, and strengthening climate resilience.
Phase I will deliver a Sustainability Baseline Assessment and Strategic Goal Recommendations Report, offering the Village a clear understanding of current conditions and opportunities. paleBLUEdot’s team will complete a comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory and forecast, a climate vulnerability assessment, and studies of renewable energy potential, tree canopy and ground cover, and urban heat island impacts. Together, these assessments will establish data-driven goals and strategies to guide Glen Ellyn’s next steps in sustainability planning.
Future phases may expand this foundation into a full Environmental Sustainability Plan, supported by inclusive community engagement and long-range implementation strategies. By starting with rigorous research and goal-setting, Glen Ellyn is ensuring that its sustainability efforts will be both effective and achievable.
