The City of Plymouth has taken a significant step toward a sustainable future by selecting paleBLUEdot to lead the first phase of its Climate Action Planning effort. This initial phase will provide the city with the essential data, analysis, and strategic direction needed to build a comprehensive plan for reducing emissions and strengthening community resilience.
Phase I will deliver a Baseline Assessment and Strategic Recommendations Report that lays the foundation for long-term climate action. The paleBLUEdot team will prepare a detailed greenhouse gas emissions inventory and forecast, conduct a climate vulnerability assessment, and complete studies of renewable energy potential, urban tree canopy and ground cover, and urban heat island impacts. These assessments will help Plymouth identify opportunities for emissions reduction, climate adaptation, and equitable community benefits.
The findings will be paired with science-based, locally relevant recommendations to guide the City’s next phase of planning. Future work may expand these baselines into a full Climate Action Plan, shaped through community engagement and designed to align with regional and state climate goals.
By launching this initiative, Plymouth demonstrates strong leadership in climate action—building the foundation for a healthier, more resilient, and sustainable future for all residents. paleBLUEdot is honored to partner with the City of Plymouth in this important effort.
